Mifflin Commissioners Plan for $$ Distribution

The Mifflin County Commissioners met on Thursday, and revealed their plans for distributing $8.9 million that has been received by the county under the American Rescue Plan Act. Among the ideas under consideration… Protection from increased property taxes; Addressing costs associated with the COVID pandemic; Support for volunteer fire departments and first responders; and an updated HVAC system at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility. Other recipients include the Juniata Valley YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, One Dog at a Time, and the county coroner’s office.
