A warning today from Pennsylvania State Police… They say scammers are now pretending to be troopers by spoofing… or disguising… state police phone numbers. State police say the scammers are asking for gift cards or other forms of payments for arrest warrants or Megan’s Law offenses, and they are threatening to arrest people who refuse to pay them. State police say they will never call asking for gift cards or payments, and legitimate companies will not request gift cards for payments.
